CRUISINGThe BBC Yacht Club cruises our Dufour 40 Ariel of Hamble in the Solent and further afield. When Prospeo of Hamble (our Sigma 33) is not in racing mode we also cruise her. Cruises may be any length but usually are between one day and one week in length. During the summer we organise an extended summer cruise when the boats spend a few weeks in the Channel Islands or the East Coast. You do not have to be an expert sailor to come sailing with us. We are happy to include complete novices on our cruises, there is only one way to learn after all! Read more |
RACING The BBC Yacht Club has an active racing section. We race our Sigma 33 - Prospero of Hamble, throughout the year, from
March to December. Since acquiring her in 1995 we have raced every year
in the Hamble Spring and Winter Series, and the Round the Island Race.
We have also regularly competed in Cowes Week, Cork Week, and the Sigma
Class Championships, which have been held in Scotland, Ireland,
Cornwall or in our home waters in the Solent. Read more |
TRAININGThe BBC Yacht Club is an RYA recognised training establishment, and both the boats and instructors receive regular inspections by the RYA. Read more  |
