Sailing Skills Development Courses

We offer a range of skills development courses to our members.  These can include:

Boat Handling: On this 2 day course, you will be coached to moor a yacht under engine and using just the sails.  Most of the course gives participants the opportunity to practice these skills.

Newbie Days and Weekends:  These trips are geared towards people that have little or no sailing experience.  The skipper and mate will explain how to sail and give you lots of practice and encouragement.

Race Training: A chance, in a non-competitive situation, to learn about racing.  The different roles on a racing yacht and how to work as a team to get the boat sailing as fast as possible.

Qualifying Passages for RYA courses:  Many of our trips include passages such as those of 60 miles, or more, and night sailing passages.  These are prerequisites to progressing to more advanced RYA courses. 

Celestial Navigation: How to use a Sextant and calculate position.
