Prospero of HambleProspero of Hamble is a Sigma 33 that enters major racing events with the large Sigma fleet but is also suitable for cruising. Below decks, Prospero has a double cabin and up to five further berths (beds) but we tend to cruise with just 4 or 5 people. She has a heads (toilet/bathroom), a large saloon (lounge area) to share meals and relax at the end of a day's sailing. The galley (kitchen) is well-equipped with oven and cool box. There are oilies (waterproof jackets and trousers) and lifejackets for you to use. Prospero has a set of racing sails and cruising sails, along with the spinnaker (the colourful large sail at the front). She is steered using a tiller, which is very responsive to steer. Winter MaintenanceEvery winter the boats are taken out of the water for maintenance which is done by members of the club to keep the costs down. It's also a great way to learn more about the boats and have a fun day out if you want to get involved! Safety FirstProspero is fully equipped in accordance with the D.o.T. safety requirements. See Prospero Skippers Briefing for more detailed information. |
